Summary
We are proposing a new Purpose Statement based on feedback on our Draft Purpose Statements.
Please provide feedback at this link
Feedback will be implemented in 2 weeks.
Dear Abolition Apostles Supporters,
Recently, we held an Organizing Round Table with representatives from each of our Working Groups. You can view the notes from this meeting here.
As a top priority, we agreed on finalizing our new purpose statement. We devoted much of the meeting to combing through the feedback. Ultimately, we came up with the following purpose statement, which we bring to our collective for feedback:
To spark & support meaningful connections between people inside and outside prison in a way that transforms us all, rooted in our abolitionist belief that no one is disposable.
Now, we need your feedback or approval!
In 2 weeks, we will discuss the feedback we get from this and either create a new proposal or finalize this as our purpose statement for the time being. Regardless of what is decided next, we plan to revisit and reflect on the purpose statement(s) regularly.
Let’s Keep In Touch!
Another action item that came out of our organizing meeting is a commitment to more regularly update you, our subscribers. Everyday conversations are generally happening on Slack, but we want to make sure we are communicating with everyone in our collective. Please feel free to respond if there is something specific you’d like to see in newsletters moving forward! And don’t forget to follow us on social media.
